Some say that the young people are the future of our church. While that may be true to some extent, we at Roebuck Baptist Church believe that the youth are the church now. We have a very active youth group led by Chuck and Jill Miller. Our youth are a vital part of our worship and they serve as workers in the church. They are examples to our adults in the way they are eager to serve in missions both at home and around the world. Below are listed just a few things that they are involved in on a regular basis in our fellowship:

Important Summer Dates:

Wednesday Nights - 6:33 until 7:47.  Meet in youth room finish in gym.
JHVBS (July 7-11) - Junior High VBS  9:00 - 11:45am.
PowerPlant (July 19-25) - Cincinnati, OH.  Youth mission trip for anyone going into the ninth grade.

  • The Crossing - This is our weekly Wednesday night youth meeting that is full of fun, special worship time, Bible study and a great time of fellowship.

  • Discipleship Groups – Every student is encouraged to join a discipleship group. They meet on Sunday nights at 5:00 p.m. in various homes and are taught by adults who spend time getting to know each student and involve themselves in their lives.

  • Bible Study – Each Sunday morning we have a large group time of Praise and worship before we split into age graded classes where we learn more about what God wants for our lives.

  • Morning Prayer Time - Each Wednesday morning during the school year many of our students meet in the youth room at 6:45 a.m. for prayer and then go to Hardees for breakfast.

  • Youth Retreats – Our students go on several retreats during the year including SeeSalt in the summer, Chillipepper, Ski Retreat, Parent/Student Retreat, Fall Retreat and others.

  • Mission Trips – Our youth go on more mission trips than anyone else in our church. They have taken three trips to Peru as well as many other mission projects throughout the years.

  • Saturated (Youth Choir) – We have a very talented group of students and they use their talents to lead our church in worship. They have put together their own band and they sing periodically in our evening worship.

  • Local Ministries – Several of our students help in ministries in our community. Many have served as Summer Missionaries with Child Evangelism Fellowship, Some seniors with early dismissal have helped with Good News Club and some have volunteered at Carolina Pregnancy Center.
